Digital Painting is a duplication of the process of painting with traditional paints and burshes using an image editor. Programs exist, like Painter X which give one exact digital copies of real world painting tools, at a considerable cost. More commonly image editors like Photo Shop are used with custom digital brushes and extensive use of layer properties.
